Toothpaste & Oral Care
Toothpaste, children's toothpaste and mouthwash from the five brands a Vietnamese consolidator can fill by the container: Colgate, Close Up, P/S, Sensodyne and Signal. Every pack below carries its size, the number of units in a carton and its HS code, so a load can be costed before anyone asks us for a price.
What is on this shelf
Most of what is here is the same paste in a different tube. Toothpaste runs from a 35g travel tube to a 250g family size, and 180g and 100g are the two sizes that move by the pallet. Mouthwash sits on the same shelf at 250ml, 500ml and 750ml. Flavour and formula are separate packs with their own SKU, from charcoal and sea salt through whitening and green tea to the children's ranges split by age band, which is why a shortlist should be built on SKUs rather than on photographs.

How oral care loads
Every pack on this shelf publishes its units per carton, and the spread across the shelf is wide: 144 or 120 tubes to a carton at the 35g to 45g end, 60 or 72 through the mid sizes, 36 or 48 for the 170g to 250g family tubes, and 12 for mouthwash whatever the bottle. That number is what a container is costed from, so it is on the pack page rather than in a price list you have to write in for. Carton weight and volume are being filled in pack by pack; send the desk the packs you are pricing and they come back with the quote.
HS code, origin and what a broker will ask
Toothpaste and mouthwash sit under HS 3306, oral hygiene preparations, and the full eight digit code as Vietnam declares it is printed on every pack page beside the country of origin. Not every line on this shelf is Vietnamese made: some are produced elsewhere in the region and consolidated here, and the origin field says which is which, pack by pack. Oral care is handled as a cosmetic by most import regimes, so check the code and the origin against your own tariff line and your labelling rules before committing to a quantity.
Why oral care is the line to start a container on
This is not a side line in the Vietnamese FMCG trade, it is the top of it. Across 18,915 customs declaration lines from three Vietnamese consolidators between January 2023 and June 2026, toothpaste was 9.5% of declared value and reached 23 markets; for the largest of the three it was the single biggest heading at 16.8%. The same data shows a given pack declared 25 to 30 percent lower into Singapore and Hong Kong than into the market that finally sells it, which is what buying through a transhipment lane costs. Toothpaste also cases small and heavy, so it is the line that fills the floor of a mixed container that is otherwise short of weight.
